Draw the Public adorned the front cover of The Chronicle Herald Magazine’s October edition. The article was a personal account of Alzheimer’s written by a journalist whose own mother suffers from the disease. Drawings were made on site on the locked floor of a nursing home. Thank you to both the occupants and staff for putting up with me and my frantic sketching.
Beautiful and compelling work.
Thank you Anne, good to hear from you, Russell.
That looks beautiful. Great job! They should us you for all the stories :)
Tusen takk edenfre.
Wonderful drawings, look great in print
Thanks Martin. They did a great job on the layout, and the printing was spot on. Fingers crossed there’s more work on the way. Best regards, Russell.
Way to go!
Beautiful!
These are beautiful. Elders are so rarely seen in contemporary society.
Thanks Rosie. Yes, they’re forgotten about for the most part, it’s such a waste because they have so much to give.
Hope you and the family are well in Wales, regards Russell.
This is fabulous, Russell. Congratulations!!! I like that they chose an illustrator over a photographer for this subject. And I’m so glad it was you they chose! xx
Thanks Narelle. Yes, they took a leap of faith and entrusted an illustrator with the job, too many editors rely on photographs for a quick and easy solution. Have a great week-end, Russell.
Congratulations Russell!!! That is awesome! Your drawings are terrific in this article. Bravo!
Thanks Jen, appreciate you dropping in, I’ll take a peek at what you’re up to too. Best regards, Russell.
RIGHT ON!
Thanks friend ;-)
Congratulations
Cheers Hansi. All the best, Russell.
