There’s a lot of stigma surrounding mental illness, stigma that makes people feel worse, and can prevent us from seeking help. Bell Let’s Talk Day, is a Canadian initiative by Bell Media that aims to end this stigma, by promoting an open discussion on mental illness, and raising money to improve access to services that support people with mental health issues. You can help out with just a Tweet, make sure you use the #BellLetsTalk hashtag. (For every Tweet, Bell donates 5 cents to mental health initiatives.) The awareness campaign is now in it’s 5th year, and has raised over 67.5 million dollars. Draw The Public applauds the media giant’s philanthropy.
Footnote: The campaign raised $6,107,538.60 at the end of the day.
