I don’t know if anyone else will agree with me but this draft has a distinctive Dave McKean vibe to it. I mean that in the best possible way of course – Dave McKean is one of my favorite artists. You are beginning to inspire me to get back into the habit of daily drawing, so thanks for that Drawthepublic!
I’d never seen Dave McKean’s work before, just Googled the name, excuse my ignorance, and thanks. Glad to hear I might have inspired a good habit. Thanks for commenting, Russell.
I love this!
All your drawings seem so genuine!
I wonder if you have seen the project i have been working on?
would love for you to take a look and pehaps contribute… have a look and let me know what you think :) http://artistoexist.com/2015/07/10/lets-face-it-part-2-2/
Interesting idea Korynn! Hope the project is coming together well. I think I’m a little late to make a worthwhile contribution. Good luck, and I look forward to seeing the result. Best, Russell.
Real etching look. People ask me if I sell pen and Ink work and the reply is “if I was born in 1861 I might’ve”. You definitely would’ve. Kinda reminds me of the artist from Warren Magazines. Reed Crandall maybe? Been awhile since those have been read.
Wow! Reed Crandall made some epic illustrations. And Warren Magazine looks coolāI’m a fan of retro Vamp. films. Thanks for the tip off. Best, Russell.
it is always lovable such drawings to me, free hand and without color. great work!
Thanks Jawed, I quite like black and white drawings too. Thank you for commenting, Russell.
Amazing! Great use of line š
Thank you Sandra ;-)
I loved your draws! I am a art teacher in Brasil.
Wow thanks! AbraƧos :-D
Awesome picture

Gah, how I disdain the exclamation mark and how frivolous it makes one seem – simply couldn’t help myself…
You’re allowed one exclamation mark.

Thanks very much Kiran. That makes me happy :-)
I looked at your different pieces and that chills me. So beautiful seriously! *
i’m in love with the way the words and the drawing merge
Thank you Ahora, I was worried the words would be too difficult to read. But maybe it doesn’t matter too much…
Dear Russell, I see this and I also feel like drawing you.
“Cause you talk personality” …. :)
Dear Rosa, how nice it would be to sit in a cafĆ©, and draw each other! (though I’m sure we’d be too busy chatting) Abrazo, Russell.
It’s a wonderful drawing and I love the use of text. So free. So seemingly effortless.
Thanks Rosie. I had a few false starts here before I knew what I wanted from the drawing. Hope you’re doing great, Russell.
Fine thanks, Russell. Your drawings are so expressive. Beautiful work.
